A 38 year old man has been charged after a series of suspicious fires at Andergrove Village earlier this year.
Police now alleging the man threatened to burn a Celeber Road business before the incident.
Police and emergency services have responded to fires at a business at the shopping complex four times since the start of the year, on January 13, February 14, 18 and most recently the 27th.
The most recent fire over the weekend ripped through a business, and damaged another- it was extinguished a short time later and a crime scene was declared.
No one was physically injured in any of these events.
Detectives searched a home at Andergrove on Tuesday, arresting the Emu Park man.
The man has been charged with one count each of threats, possessing dangerous drugs, and possessing utensils, and was due to appear before Mackay Magistrates Court yesterday.
