The dream job is now available, with one lucky person to get paid to soak up the sun and explore the beautiful Whitsundays.
Applications are open to be Tourism Whitsundays’ Chief Icon Officer.
The role is a 10-day contract worth approximately $10,000 in flights, accommodation, experiences and food, based entirely in the Whitsundays, with the successful candidate tasked with showing the world what makes the region so iconic.
You will get to explore the Great Barrier Reef, Whitehaven Beach, Heart Reef and the 74 Islands, testing the region’s dining and nightlife, as well as hiking, mountain biking, jet skiing, snorkelling and swimming.
The Chief Icon Officer will document it all on TikTok and Instagram, sharing The Whitsundays with their audience in real time, and can also bring a friend along.
Tourism Whitsundays is looking for someone with iconic energy, a sense of adventure, a phone and to be 18 years or over.

Tourism Whitsundays CEO Tim Booth says applications are now open and close May 8, 2026.
