A Clayton’s Towing crew will arrive in Bowen today to begin the recovery of a ship wreck.
The ‘7 Wonders’ washed up onto the rocks at Rose Bay during Tropical Cyclone Koji in January, with maritime authorities removing around half a tonne of debris from the site in late February.
It has become a feature of the coastline since washing ashore.

Local residents have taken to social media to voice their concerns about the “slow” cleanup process and environmental impact of the wreck.
Some locals suggested cleaning and sinking the vessel.
Those wanting to watch on, will need to stay in the blue area zoned off (picture below).
