Jimmy Kimmel Live is off the air.
Late night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! has been placed on indefinite suspension for the foreseeable future. The news comes from an ABC spokesperson sharing the decision to take Jimmy Kimmel off air. In a company statement that was released a spokesperson said:
“Nexstar’s owned and partner television stations affiliated with the ABC Television Network will preempt Jimmy Kimmel Live! for the foreseeable future beginning with tonight’s show… Nexstar strongly objects to recent comments made by Mr. Kimmel concerning the killing of Charlie Kirk and will replace the show with other programming in its ABC-affiliated markets.”
Kimmel’s remarks that have had him suspended include “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterise this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,”

Suspension doesn’t necessarily mean that Kimmel is gone though. Even though there is no plan for the time being on when Kimmel may return, this suspension isn’t a firing and leaves the door open for a potential return.
