Woman’s car stolen in alleged armed robbery at East Mackay

Investigations are ongoing into an alleged carjacking at East Mackay.

Initial reports indicate a woman was inside her parked car on Shakespeare Street at 3.15pm, when she was allegedly approached by a man who was armed with a knife and demanded she exit the vehicle.

Police say the woman complied and the man got into the vehicle, leaving the scene.

The woman was not physically injured.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
