Weapons seized after man caught drink driving

A man has allegedly been caught with multiple weapons after police pulled him over in Sarina.

It’s alleged the 26-year-old Grasstree Beach man was seen reversing along Central Street against the flow of traffic around 12.40pm on Sunday.

Police intercepted the vehicle and had a conversation with the 26 year old driver regarding this behaviour.

He was subjected to a roadside breath test which is alleged to have returned a positive reading, before he returning a breath alcohol concentration reading of 0.203%.

It’s further alleged that officers found and seized multiple weapons from the man’s car and pockets.

The man was issued with a notice to appear in the Sarina Magistrates Court on January 12, 2026, in relation to the offences of driving without due care and attention, driving without a current licence, unlawful possession of a knife in a public place, unlawful possession of a category M weapon and driving while under the influence of liquor.
