A car stolen from Shoal Point, has been found abandoned and damaged at West Mackay.
Police are investigating a break-in to a home on Portside Place between 12.00am and 4.00am on Saturday.
Entry was gained into the home by damaging the locked side sliding door.
Once inside the home the intruder entered a bedroom and stole car keys from a handbag on the bedside table.
The keys were used to steal a grey Kia hatchback, parked in the driveway.
The stolen Kia was found abandoned at 2:27pm later that same day, parked in Romeo Street, South Mackay.
Some damage had taken place to the left hand side of the vehicle (both doors).
Anyone who might have information about this matter is encouraged to contact police as soon as possible.
