A man has stolen from and entered a dwelling, at East Mackay, while a resident was home.
Police say it happened at around 11.30 yesterday morning, on Moore Street.
The resident had moved into the lounge room and found the man standing near the couch.
The resident verbally challenged the man, who responded by running out of the house and into a waiting new model white sedan, that was parked in the driveway.
The car was quickly driven away from the area.
A set of keys and a pair of sunglasses were the only items stolen.
Officers say entry had been gained into the home through a closed door.
Police say the intruder is described as being a male with a dark complexion, between 25 and 40 years of age, damaged teeth, approximately 5″8 – 5″10 in height.
He was reportedly wearing white and grey coloured clothing and a white and grey coloured cap which was worn backwards.
