A 23-year-old man has been hospitalised with life-threatening injuries, after a serious assault at Airlie Beach.
Police say a 21-year-old, and a group of other men, approached the victim and his friend on Shute Harbour Road at 3.10am on Monday.
A 21-year-old Cannonvale man has been charged with grievous bodily harm.

The victim, a Bungalow man, was airlifted to Townsville Hospital for treatment, where he remains.
Investigations are ongoing.
Police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
