Seventeen people have been caught drink driving in the region over the weekend.
A 36-year-old Proserpine man allegedly returned the highest blood alcohol reading when caught driving after midnight on Saturday returning an alleged reading of 0.164%.
He’s set to face Proserpine Magistrates Court in July, charged with driving while under the influence of liquor as well as driving with a disqualified licence.
Drivers were caught over the legal limit in Cremorne, Richmond (Northern Beaches), South Mackay, Cannonvale, Proserpine, Moranbah, Collinsville, Springlands and also Jubilee Pocket.
Senior Constable Steve Smith says their surprised by the number of drivers caught on the weekend and is warning motorists police efforts to catch drink driving offenders is not going to ease off.
