Mackay-Whitsunday district has broken an unwanted crime record, despite come positive trends across the board.
The region saw an eight percent drop in crime in November, with just over 2,100 offences reported.
Despite the downward trend, the region saw it’s worst month of domestic violence ever, with 281 offences during the November.

Assaults also increased and there was a 40 percent spike in car theft.
In some positive signs, sexual offences were down to their lowest levels in over a year and drug offences were down nearly 50 percent.
